Is this the real thing? And why do we have it?

Read the latest article and Mark Lanier's comments on the Dead Sea Scrolls in Christianity Today. The LTL has worked with Dr. Weston Fields, director of the Dead Sea Scrolls Foundation,  in its acquisitions of artifacts from Qumran. Dr. Fields oversees the unique plan for long term, secure, documented preservation of the scrolls using recognized educational and public entities. This provides both a secure safe conservancy of the artifacts while allowing for their exhibition in protective and controlled environments. Forgeries abound, but the artifact that is being preserved at the LTL is genuine and we are privileged to participate in the long term care of this invaluable artifact.
