In light of recent developments regarding coronavirus in the Houston area, and with an abundance of caution, the Lanier Theological Library is monitoring the situation and taking several steps with the best interests of our community as well as our patrons, volunteers and staff in mind.
First, please join us in praying for those impacted by the virus, directly and indirectly, and for those serving the hurting during this difficult season.
Next, the Spring Chapel Program has been postponed until further notice. Previously scheduled Spring lectures in The Stone Chapel have also been postponed, including Michael Lloyd on March 28, and Daniel Carroll Rodas on April 25.
And finally, given the growing number of coronavirus cases in our immediate area, and in response to recommendations from our government, local healthcare professionals and community leaders, The Lanier Theological Library is now closed to the public until further notice. While our facilities are temporarily closed, the Lanier Theological Library research tools are still available at https://www.laniertheologicallibrary.org/research_tools/
Also, we are creating a list of online resources, books, journals, and primary sources to help with research, writing and presentations. More and more publishers are offering free access temporarily to some of their books. As that number grows, we will update our own list. For more information and to access the list of resources, please email David.email@example.com. Also, we are offering to scan up to 25 pages per week for each patron from books, journals, and encyclopedias currently on hand at the Lanier Theological Library. Please be as specific as possible with name of author, book title, year of publication, and page numbers needed. We will return a digitized copy of those pages to you via email. Please send all requests to David.firstname.lastname@example.org and kindly allow up to 72 hours for a response.
Thank you for your patience and prayerful support of the Lanier Theological Library.
