The tighter connections we have through technology mean that pluralism surrounds us in more ways than at any time in human history. The demographics of the USA are also changing in profound ways. Add to this the moral shifts in our country and the marginalization of the church, and the church becomes very nervous and more combative toward its unbelieving neighbors. So how has the church responded and how should it respond to these changes? We also lack a theology of Cultural Engagement. This lecture will consider if the Culture War approach of the last four decades aligns with Scripture and will propose a different way of engagement with a distinct set of priorities through consideration of six core engagement texts. There will be much to discuss as Dr. Bock draws from his work on Cultural Intelligence about how to live for God in a diverse, pluralistic world.

Darrell Bock is the Executive Director of Cultural Engagement and Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.
